Google docs a good way of reaching consensus?

So we have now finished our google doc, four people over three days etc., and a couple more nights afterwards.
Writing it on google docs certainly took a long time - I guess the result isn’t that much better than we would have got if one individual had written it in a tenth of the time; but I think this way we can really say that we have have come closer to reaching a consensus than we could have done any other way and I guess that is remarkable.
